France will require coronavirus tests for travelers from Chile

The Government of France has modified the decree requiring a negative coronavirus test for travelers from certain countries, adding to the list more than a dozen names, including several from Latin America.

Brazil, the second country in the world with the most cases of covid-19, Panama and Peru were until now the only Latin American countries that were part of this list, to which Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, the Dominican Republic are now added. and Costa Rica, according to the text published by the Official Gazette of the Republic.

The changes will take effect on August 19 and will also affect travelers from Armenia, Bosnia, Equatorial Guinea, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Maldives, Moldova, Montenegro and the Palestinian territories.

In addition to Brazil, Panama and Peru, Algeria, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Israel, Kuwait, Madagascar, Oman, Qatar, Serbia, South Africa and Turkey were already on the list.

French authorities reported 2,669 new positives for coronavirus on Thursday, the highest rate of infection since May, and raised the provisional balance since the start of the pandemic above 209,000. More than 30,300 people have lost their lives in France victims of covid-19.
