Midfielder N’Golo Kante (31, France), who plays for Chelsea in English professional football, is expected to miss the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, which kicks off in November with a hamstring injury.
ESPN, an American sports media, reported on the 15th: “We have confirmed from Kante officials that it will be difficult to participate in the World Cup this year.”
Kante, who was a member of France’s winning team at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, is no longer on the pitch since the match against Tottenham in August this year.
Another French midfielder, Paul Pogba (Juventus), was also recently operated on for a knee injury, so it is unclear whether he will participate in the Qatar World Cup.
Chelsea defender Rhys James (England), like Kante, is also expected to struggle to participate in the World Cup in Qatar.
James recently injured his knee during a match between AC Milan (Italy) and the UEFA Champions League (UCL).
James will have a detailed diagnosis this weekend to see how long it will take for treatment and recovery.
