France U16 Women’s Team loses to United States in friendly match

The France U16 Women’s Team lost (3-0) to the United States in a friendly on Wednesday April 5 in Mortagne-sur-Sèvre.

Two days after its big inaugural victory in the Mondial de Montaigu against Mexico (6-0), the U16 Women’s selection challenged its American counterpart in a friendly confrontation outside the tournament in Mortagne-sur-Sèvre (Pays de la Loire).

Led at the break after goals from Trinity Armstrong (22nd) and Madeline Padelski (38th), the Bleuettes tried to react to the return from the locker room but conceded a third goal from Zoe Matthews (58th) and had to bow.

Cécile Locatelli’s players will resume their tournament this Friday evening against Japan at the Henri-Desgrange stadium in La Roche-sur-Yon (8 p.m., live on FFFtv and the FFF YouTube channel). They will play the final or a classification match on Sunday 9 April.
