The corresponding statement was made by the head of the French Foreign Ministry, Catherine Colonna, answering the question of journalists whether Paris is ready to continue supporting Ukraine, including through the provision of offensive weapons, informs RFI.
According to the minister, new deliveries of weapons are currently being prepared, taking into account the needs of the Ukrainian army on the battlefield.
The head of the defense department specified: these deliveries will be carried out in the short term, special attention is paid to air defense and artillery.
In addition, France is working with allies on security guarantees for Ukraine, which are likely to be announced during the NATO summit in Vilnius. In parallel with this, the process of Ukraine’s integration into the Alliance will continue, the minister added.
Recall, the media reported that NATO is urgently agreeing on a package of security guarantees for Ukraine, which may be announced at the Alliance’s summit in the capital of Lithuania. It is about providing military support to the Ukrainian army in the long term.
