France suspends 3,000 healthcare workers who fail to comply with vaccination obligations

In France, 3000 healthcare workers have been suspended who have not been vaccinated against the corona virus. Health Minister Véran emphasizes in the media that the continuity of care remains guaranteed, despite the suspensions.

“We are talking about 2.7 million employees and many suspensions are temporary.” According to him, most of the suspensions have been handed out to support staff and only a small part of them applies to “white coats”.

The health minister also said that a large part of the employees had still been vaccinated. The minister estimates the number of people in care who have resigned due to the introduction of the vaccination obligation at several dozen.

No obligation in the Netherlands

Healthcare workers in France had until September 15 to be vaccinated. In the coronawet passed at the end of July includes several sanctions for staff who do not want to take a vaccine and one of them is suspension.

According to the government, the law is a great success. Vaccination rates in the country have risen in a short period of time, including among healthcare workers.

The cabinet in the Netherlands wants to make it possible to record who has been vaccinated against Covid-19 in healthcare. “That will not be a duty, but can be used if it is helpful and only in healthcare,” said Health Minister De Jonge at the corona press conference on Tuesday.

Corona admission ticket

The minister also wrote in a letter to the House about the possibility of using corona tickets in healthcare. Healthcare personnel can use such evidence to demonstrate that they have been vaccinated or have recently recovered. An alternative would be to have a corona test done every day.

There will be no real vaccination obligation in the Netherlands, Hugo de Jonge assured on Tuesday:
