France suffers a high intensity cyber attack – 2024-03-16 17:22:24

Numerous French official IT services were victims of a cyberattack of “unprecedented intensity” claimed by a group calling itself Anonymous Sudan, supported by Russia and by various Islamist groups.

According to Executive sources, the attack began on Sunday night through “classic modalities” to disable computer services, although of an intensity not known until now in the country.

Anonymous Sudan claims responsibility for the attack

Although France has not yet identified the perpetrators of the attack, the group Anonymous Sudan has done so through the social network Telegram.

The group that has claimed responsibility for the attack claims through the network Telegram that in their sights were the Ministries of Culture, Health, Economy and Ecological Transition, in addition to those of Civil Aviation, the inter-ministerial direction of digital economy, the National Geographic Institute and the services of the prime minister.

Crisis cabinet

A crisis cabinet was created by the authorities to counter the cyber attack and guarantee the continuity of computer services, which have already been restored.

But several of them were unusable for a good part of the day or had many access problems.

France maintains maximum vigilance against this type of attacks on the eve of the European elections in June and, above all, the Paris Olympic Games that will begin on July 26. EFE
