France, Spain, Czech Republic and United States Qualify for Billie Jean King Cup Final Phase

France, Spain, the Czech Republic and the United States notably won their ticket to the final phase of the Billie Jean King Cup (November 7-12) after qualifying. They thus join Switzerland, defending champion, and Australia, unfortunate finalist in 2022, who were automatically qualified.

France beat Great Britain 3-1 in Coventry, Spain beat Mexico by the same scoreline in front of their home crowd in Marbella, as did the Czech Republic against Ukraine who “received” in Antalya, Turkey. The Americans then followed suit, beating Austria 3-0 at Delray Beach.

Italy, on the other hand, trembled in Slovakia, while Camila Giorgi and Martina Trevisan had won the first two singles on Friday. It all came down to a decisive double, which was won by Elisabetta Cocciaretto and Martina Trevisan (6-4 4-6 7-5) ahead of Viktoria Hruncakova and Tereza Mihalikova.
