France wants to arm helicopters with Hellfire missiles. The main carriers are the Eurocopter Tiger. The US State Department this week approved a potential sale of more than 1,500 missiles.

The French government has requested up to 1,515 AGM-114R2 Hellfire air-to-air guided anti-tank missiles. The amount of the potential deal is $203 million. The main contractor will be Lockheed Martin.
The AGM-114R2 is one of the latest versions of the Hellfire aircraft missile. It has a laser guidance system and allows you to destroy enemy targets at a distance of up to 11 km.
Another feature of the AGM-114R2 Hellfire is its multipurpose warhead. It enables a guided missile to effectively destroy different types of targets.
