France: Reports of Pelikos inviting men to rape his wife cause disgust –

Dominic Pelico, one of the worst sex offenders of recent decades, “offered me his wife in exchange for work in his garden” but “I refused to go there” because “he warned me that he was drugging her to sleep” and “for me, that it was rape,” a prosecution witness explained today in the “trial of the century” at the Avignon court.

For ten years, her ex-husband Giselle Peliko “recruited” men online to rape her. The 71-year-old woman, accepting that the trial be held in public and not behind closed doors, caused a wave of support for victims of rape and sexual abuse.

Jerome B., 42, is a professional driver. In March 2020, she met Pelikos in the chatroom of a French website, which has now been closed. The 42-year-old was identified thanks to the file kept on his computer by the main accused, where he kept videos and photos of the rapes. But the “file” she had opened for Jerome B. was empty: the man never went to the couple’s home in Mazan, a small town in the south of France.

From the witness stand now, Jerome B., who is not facing any charges, explained what Peliko asked him: “He told me to do chores in the garden and in exchange he offered me his wife. I told him to go on a Saturday morning and he said no because he was giving her a sleeping pill. He added that he drugs his wife and offers her to men very often. I told him that this is rape and I don’t agree.”

Soon after, Cyril F., the second “empty envelope,” who also met Dominic Peliko online, testified. “Until he told me his wife was on pills and would definitely be asleep when I arrived. I thought it was some young man telling lies, I didn’t think someone could drug his wife, and I cut off contact,” said the 48-year-old civil servant, who did not remember whether Peliko told him he was giving the hypnotics himself or whether she was taking them herself. her Giselle.

The 51 defendants in the trial could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted. 18 of them, including Peliko, are in custody, the rest were released on parole and one is being tried in absentia.

The trial is expected to last until December 20.
