There is growing indignation and concern for the violent drift of the police: the issue is not the “bad apples”, but the doubt that there is an underlying, systemic problem. The President Macron he says “more than shocked” (and Elysée sources describe him as “furious”) and calls for the dismissal of the policemen who beaten and insulted long a music producer, in his recording studio. Four policemen have been suspended from duty and are currently in custody, awaiting questioning.
