The pilot is dead
The pilot of the vintage Fouga Magister training aircraft that crashed while taking part in an air show in Lavandou, southern France, has been found dead, French authorities said.
The body of the pilot was recovered from the sea, announced the district of Var. An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
The Patrouille de France aerobatic team was also supposed to take part in the demonstration, but canceled its appearance after the accident.
Two days ago, two French fighter jets collided in eastern France, killing two people. One of the pilots survived.
Fouga Magisters are two-seat aircraft that have been used since the 1950s as trainers by the air forces of many countries.
