The Paris prosecutor’s office announced today the opening of an investigation against the actor Gerard Depardieufollowing the complaint of a decorator who accuses him of sexual assault during the filming of the film “Les Volets Verts” by Jean Becker in 2021.
The 53-year-old plaintiff, named Amelie, filed a lawsuit at the Paris prosecutor’s office on February 23. She accuses the popular movie star of sexual assault, sexual harassment and sexist slurs.
According to a Mediapart report, Depardieu allegedly grabbed her by the waist and crushed her breasts, before his bodyguards intervened. “His bodyguards took him away,” Amelie told Mediapart. “He was screaming and laughing to himself. He called out to me: “We’ll meet again my love.” I was amazed, I was disturbed,” the plaintiff said.
This is the third investigation against the 75-year-old actor. Gerard Depardieu has been under the microscope since 2020, after actress Charlotte Arnoul alleged that he was a rape victim in August 2018. He is also accused of sexually assaulting a former production assistant on the set of a film in 2014.
“I have never, ever abused a woman,” Gerard Depardieu emphasized in an open letter published on October 1 in the French newspaper Le Figaro.
