France launches presidential campaign in full swing / Article

In France, there are only four months left until the presidential elections in April, and campaigns are gaining momentum.

On Sunday, thousands came to Eric Zemur’s first official campaign rally. Former journalist Zemūrs is considered a far-right candidate. His ideological opponents, left-wing activists, had also arrived at the rally. Sharpness stood out.

Already when Zemūrs arrived at the event, a man, breaking through the crowd, briefly grabbed him and killed him along the ground. The policeman had to be freed by the police.

It also stood out clashes between the candidate’s supporters and opponents – both fists and chairs were used.

63-year-old Zemur sometimes is called the “French Tramp”. He became involved in politics in September when he left his television show and began touring France. He has twice been convicted of hate speech.

“Let’s not be unnecessarily modest, the stakes are huge. If I win this election, it will not be just another change, but the beginning of the recovery of the world ‘s most beautiful country, “Zemur promises to the voters.

He is considered a competitor to the leader of the National Union, Marina Lepena, but polls show that voters still consider Lepena more competent for the presidency than Zemūra.

Meanwhile, the French Conservative Republican Party has also elected its presidential candidate in the pre-election process, entrusting it for the first time to a woman, Valery Pecres, President of the Ile-de-France Regional Council. She declared, “The right is back!”

“Now it all starts, the hopes are huge, because the right has returned with a beautiful French team, with a beautiful project that gives the French hope for better governance, hope for authority, freedom, dignity, justice,” said Pekres.

In polls, the current French president, Emmanuel Macron, is still the favorite in the presidential election. According to the polls, it is likely that a second round will be needed, with Macron and Lepena entering, and Macron winning.
