After losing her singer’s microphone due to the coronavirus, France D’Amour has just found another: that of radio host.
As of Sunday at 9 a.m., the singer-songwriter will take charge of a new show at Rythme. Entitled The collection by … France D’Amour, this weekly meeting will give him the chance to share his first passion: music.
In interview at Journal, the main interested party speaks of a “gift from heaven”.
For two hours each week, she will offer power ballads. She will tell their story, dissect their lyrics, listen to their melodies … and share stage anecdotes.
“In life, I can talk about music for 42 hours without exhausting myself,” she says over the phone. I am obsessed! It is a flame that continues to grow. “
A difficult year
France D’Amour does not hide it, she found the year 2020 “extremely difficult”.
“Because everything I love has been taken away from me,” she says. I continue to sing at home, but giving shows, sharing my songs, hearing people scream … That’s what nourishes me. “
Despite the imposition of health measures that prevent the holding of shows, France D’Amour continues to smile. To explain her philosophy, she reports words often attributed to Voltaire: “I have decided to be happy because it is good for health”.
“When I stop laughing I think I’ll die a little bit,” she said. You have to keep your sense of humor, because otherwise it’s too big, too sad and too dramatic. “
With humility
Over the past few weeks, France D’Amour has been training in radio animation. She laughs that she will never be a Marie-Louise Arsenault or a Véronique Cloutier, but one thing is certain, she goes for it.
His experience at the helm of Lead wire, the podcast she’s been piloting since 2019, will certainly serve her well.
“Animation is a profession that I respect. I go there humbly. But I know that in music, I know myself well. I can speak with confidence. “
The collection by … France D’Amour takes over at Rythme on weekends with Philippe Pépin and Marjorie Vallée.
Another change to Rythme: the arrival of several columnists on the shows The return of Mitsou and Sébastien and Never too early. Among them are Véronique Claveau, Marie-Soleil Dion, Léa Stréliski, Geneviève O’Gleman and Laurent Paquin.
