Final standings for Group D of the 2022 World Cup already known. French finished as group winners followed Australia in the second order.
France have already confirmed their qualification after matchday two against Tunisia at Education City Stadium, Wednesday (30/11/2022) evening WIB. By reducing the number of reserve players, France struggled from the first round.
Tunisia, who played aggressively, opened the scoring in the 58th minute through Wahbi Khazri and the score lasted 1-0 until the end of the match. France had leveled the score through Antoine Griezmann late in the match, but the VAR was disallowed for offside.
Tunisia’s victory was in vain as while with Australia they managed to beat Denmark 1-0 thanks to Matthew Leckie’s goal in the 60th minute.
Australia, slaughtered 1-4 by France in their first game, finished second with six points. Socceroos score points equal to France but lose on goal difference.
Tunisia had to settle for finishing third with four points, followed by Denmark with one point in bottom position.
