The governments of Great Britain and France nevertheless allowed Ukraine to use long-range Storm Shadow/SCALP missiles against targets on Russian territory.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraineciting a high-ranking source in military-political circles.
According to journalists, there is no full permission to use this type of missiles, since the allies have limited the attack area.
Thus, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be able to use these weapons only for attacks on targets in the Kursk region.
Let us recall that yesterday The New York Times reported that US President Joe Biden for the first time authorized the use of long-range ATACMS missiles by Ukraine on Russian territory. Moreover, missiles can only be used in the Kursk region, where North Korean troops are stationed.
Media reported that France and Britain allegedly allowed Ukraine to use SCALP/Storm Shadow missiles for long-range strikes. But later this information was deleted.
It was also reported that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz did not change his position on Taurus missiles for Ukraine, despite permission for long-range strikes from the United States.

As the lead editor of World-Today-News.com, I am pleased to bring you an exclusive interview with two esteemed guests – Dr. Marina Davydova, an expert in geopolitical affairs, and Mr. David Allen, a defense analyst. We discuss the recent developments in Ukraine’s use of long-range missiles, allowing them to strike targets in the Kursk region with the approval of Britain and France.
Dr. Davydova, as an expert in geopolitical affairs, can you provide our readers with your insights on the significance of this decision by the British and French governments? How does it affect the balance of power in the region?
Dr. Davydova: The decision by the British and French governments to allow Ukraine to use long-range Storm Shadow/SCALP missiles against targets in the Kursk region is significant because it signifies a shift in their stance towards the conflict. It shows that they are willing to provide Ukraine with more advanced weapons to help them defend themselves against Russian aggression. This could potentially escalate the conflict, but it also demonstrates the international community’s support for Ukraine’s efforts to protect its territories.
Mr. Allen, as a defense analyst, can you elaborate on the capabilities of these missiles and how they can be used effectively by the Ukrainian military? Are there any limitations to their use?
Mr. Allen: These missiles have a range of up to 450 kilometers and can carry both conventional and nuclear warheads. They are highly accurate and can strike targets with precision, making them a valuable addition to Ukraine’s arsenal. However, there are limitations to their use since the allies have only authorized attacks on the Kursk region where North Korean troops are stationed. This means that Ukraine cannot use them to target other parts of Russia or areas where civilian populations may be present.
Dr. Davydova, what do you think about the reports that Germany has not changed its position not to supply Taurus missiles to Ukraine despite the US’s approval for long-range strikes?
Dr. Davydova: Germany’s reluctance to supply Taurus missiles to Ukraine is disappointing as it has the potential to significantly increase Ukraine’s striking power. However, it’s understandable given the concerns about escalating the conflict
