Framework has started offering revamped models of Framework Laptop DIY Edition and expansion cards. The program is currently underway in the United States and Canada, but will expand to other countries in the future.

The picture does in their own words using the small number of laptops that are returned during the 30 day cooling off period for its consumers. According to the company, the laptops are tested and then cleaned. Parts that conform more to the requirements of the Framework are said to be replaced. In some cases, refurbished models may contain minor cosmetic damage, but this will not affect the functionality of the devices. All devices are supplied in the United States with a one year warranty.

US customers can choose from three different models of the clean Framework Laptop DIY Edition, all equipped with an 11th Generation Intel Core processor. In May of this year, Framework announced an update that will equip its laptops with 12th generation Intel CPUs. The cheaper version of the refurbished model includes an Intel Core i5-1135G7 and costs $ 599. The next model in the range will have an Intel Core I7-1165G7 CPU and will cost $ 799. The more expensive variant has an Intel Core i7-1185G7 and costs $ 1,069.

The company will also be offering refurbished models of its expansion cards in the form of a refurbished expansion card pack. This package contains 2 USB-C modules, 1 USB-A module and 1 HDMI module. These modules are also tested and cleaned according to Framework before being offered for sale again.

The American company poses on Twitter that the revamped program is currently only available in the United States and Canada. The program would also be available in other countries “in the future”. When it will be is unclear. Since the beginning of this year it is possible for the Dutch to order the modular laptops from Framework in the Netherlands. The company’s devices are not officially on sale across the Benelux at the time of this writing. Tweakers wrote before a review on the Laptop Framework and then awarded the device a Tweakers Innovation badge.
