And some more Russian applause
Let’s put it in Russian: Mendeleev has long argued with his wife that hydrogen should come first, and not his wife and children.
***
And why don’t we continue: I promised you something about the Russian sense of “humor”, here’s a few more jokes before we get serious (I just made up a new word, thanks). Some of the following jokes are naïve, others self-deprecating, but overall most contain the streak of Russian absurdity that can be traced back to someone like Nikita Mandrika. (The autocratic king of Russian absurd humor, Daniil Harms, with his 17 horses, saggy grandmothers and my sudden favorite “cynical philosopher” Bobrov, is a separate topic.)
***
That, UTB: 90% of our compatriots live in constant stress. The remaining 10% live in Germany, France, Great Britain, Israel, Switzerland, USA.
***
Russians emigrating to Tajikistan are breeding Aikyu from both countries at the same time. (But Bulgarian – no; migascho cheveche)
***
DA Medvedev was the first leader in the history of our country not to blame his predecessor for all the problems in Russia. (Do you look famous? And do you have a sense of humor regarding the fact, what is the predecessor of negativity, formally, beshe Putin? Well, shegata ruined, dezole.)
***
Do not scold the lazy: they have done nothing.
***
Citizen Ivanov organized a drunken brawl and ended up in the police, where he rose to the rank of major.
***
Everyone considers me a conflict-free person. They don’t know I’m too lazy to respond to people’s stupidity.
***
Vasya was so lazy that he even married an already pregnant girl.
***
My life is like fishing: I sit down, wait for something, periodically blow. (In the sense that the character becomes obese from immobilization, in Russian slang, and a few other things.)
***
The last one got me thinking. If these elementary funny jokes do not need translation, then there is hope, since we have long established that our political Murzilka, Cheburashka, Nevalashka and ordinary Rublev (but not Tarkovsky) de facto do not know the Russian language.
***
They simply don’t want to be European – not just because they can’t include Western languages, but because there is an irrational and historically sacrificial comfort in supporting the most fascist power possible right now, namely – Putin’s.
***
They, the infamous, grew up with Soviet historiography, according to which the Russians are eternal liberators of everything, and remained Soviet homines – if such a socio-cultural construct can exist. We will have to wait a little longer for biology to do its job, apologizing for the strictly cynical remark.
***
As we recently discussed with my inimitable eternal friend Svetlio Vitkov in a private speech, everything in our country is a Russian model, both corruption and the political system, that is, the political system. we are not Europeans and we never will be.
***
You do?
***
Of course, I – how come – am optimistic in this case: it could be much worse. And this is my “Zoshchenko” style contribution, since he was the first to invent this truth. That is. there is continuity here: “Fragments” versus “The Blue Book” by the fantastic Mikhail Mihailovich.
***
Kato Kazakhme Zoshchenko: “The mind overcomes suffering. But the “suffering” do not want to give up their positions. It was they who declared woe to reason and began to fear it, deciding that all suffering and nothing else derives from it. ”
***
But if we really mean it: we look like a small Russophile civilization, up to the right of the EU, which blindly believes with over 60% in the “oriental model”. That is. Westernization is a kind of urban Gazarism, not a legitimate choice of civilization.
***
It’s just that we are talking about a more or less homogeneous local “mass community” that does not have the talent to expose its fictions and give up its impulses through rationalism. On the contrary, it is strictly deterministic and, of course, you will find dozens of local public apologists for anti-Westernism, including politicians. Just to remember: they don’t take real rubles, they just raise their hand, white people, someone from the non-Soviet vertical power noticed them and financed them.
***
All of this poisons our very idea of Western-style semi-left democracy, paradoxically or not. That is. the Bulgarian Russophile community does not have the triple-digit IQ to understand that it supports a de facto far-right neo-fascist regime that is barbarizing east of the Dnieper River (now in Kherson, then in other cities).
***
And here is a precept: no creature concerned with maintaining its balance should exceed a certain healthy level of our own clairvoyance.
***
You know what? You have lost your original ability to doubt rationally, and this, quite logically, leads to what most political actors take advantage of and therefore abuse your votes. Мне очень жал, but this is a fairly valid observation, a bit unpleasant, which makes one feel a little nauseous, in the darkness of modern Russian barbarism (thread).
***
If we paraphrase Choran again (as we already do every Thursday, it’s almost as healthy as boiled quinoa with seaweed), when the skeptic no longer derives from his problems and questions any actionable impulse, he approaches his personal epilogue. It is up to a politician to help him resolve his insecurities.
***
There are such skeptics at the moment, they are a mini-army – but, without being thinkers Richelieu or Mazarin per se, they manage to ignite the elemental mind. We, the so-called smart and beautiful, who make fun of us in the simple denial of the media-mafia, obviously we do not know how to do the same, at least not politically.
***
Our problem in one sentence: russists versus russophiles.
***
Yes, at best we are the educated ones, but this is by no means enough. We do not know what and how to do both with our concerns and with our freedom. Even at times, with unconscious desire, we think of our true executioner: the army of the “simple” ones. Simply because if you can sell something to the simple – an idea, a play, a concert, a political project – you’ll have a relatively large breakfast. At what moral cost is a completely irrelevant second question.
***
This is how we will endure the impending tyranny. It can pose as “periclova”, that is, to imitate democracy, but the truth is that we are transforming ourselves into a tiny oligarchic structure in the lower southwest of Europe because we disagree on who will steal, how and how much. While countries like Romania and Albania, which presumably have the same problem with the “status quo”, find ways to invest in infrastructure, future etc.
***
Bulgarian politics resembles a kind of inter-company litigation, in which no one has the courage to admit that this is an ordinary auction.
***
We don’t even have the basic skill and at least some semblance of an agreement to resolve any serious state problems. We only imagine substitutes for the truth and are nothing but embittered agents of our prejudices.
***
Our smile is mechanical, a kind of miserable last reflection of something we don’t believe in. And, consequently, we do not vote.
***
So, in short, we don’t believe in the democratic process, although I hate generalizations. We played it once already after 1935, when Boris Tre de facto canceled the democratic process in question and created an individual regime; and yes, then we ate the poisonous fruit of the one person again.
***
But we are geniuses in one thing only, if we don’t count envy: in the great Bulgarian talent, following events, not predicting them.
***
And this is mostly evident not in substantive, but procedural issues, such as how to deal with unruly driving, which kills people every other day.
***
Next week I’ll also ask you about Elvis. If he’s not “consent” too, I don’t know who he might be.
***
And, by the way, one of the biggest Russian jokes is this: today there was an accident at the Chinese nuclear power plant. Victim, I’m speaking roughly, no.
***
Which reminds me: I rely heavily on my partner, “surprisingly” enough re-elected as leader for the third time, to “fix” the world in his favor, including finding a way to stop the war in Ukraine. Opening a real front against rich Taiwan, founded by Chinese “yellow flags”, but that’s another topic.
