After a long illness, Fr. Bishop Józef Zawitkowski – informed the Diocesan Curia of Łowicka. He was the auxiliary bishop of the Łowicz diocese in 1992–2013, and the creator of many famous religious songs, incl. “Good Lord as bread.” We will also remember him from the beautiful and moving radio sermons from St. Cross in Warsaw.

Bishop Zawitkowski was the auxiliary bishop of the Łowicz diocese in the years 1992–2013. From December 9, 2013, senior bishop.
He was born on November 23, 1938 in the village of Wał in the parish of Żdżary. He was ordained a priest on May 20, 1962 in Warsaw. He was ordained a priest by Primate Stefan Wyszyński.
Everyone recognized him after calling: “Beloved my”. This is also the title of four volumes of his “Sermons of the Holy Cross Mountains”. He composed small musical forms for choirs and vocal ensembles, and is also the author of the texts of religious songs, incl. “Good Lord as bread”, “That we may be one”, and “Lord, stay with us”, “Jesus, you are the way”, “Glory, strength and thanksgiving”
