FPÖ – Ecker on the murder of women: there is no end in sight to the acts of violence | Liberal Parliament Club

ÖVP Women’s Minister Raab and with her the entire federal government are failing to protect women

Vienna (OTS) “More money than ever is being put into protection against violence, but violence, manslaughter and murder are still on the rise. Therefore, the question must be asked clearly whether investments are being made in the wrong measures,” said the FPÖ women’s spokeswoman NAbg. Rosa Ecker, MBA, in view of the fact “that on average a woman is murdered every two weeks in Austria.”

“In any case, we must strengthen acute intervention,” Ecker demanded that reports from women who are or have been exposed to a violent situation be taken seriously. “Every incident has to be clarified and we then need real help for women who decide to separate from their partner because of violence. For this, ‘safe corridors’ must be created”, the FPÖ women’s spokeswoman also wants forensic evidence to be expanded as well as the offer of violent outpatient clinics.

“I stand by it: the ÖVP Women’s Minister Raab and with her the entire federal government are failing to protect women. Our women must be assured that they will be helped in their precarious situation. Inflation and the associated potential for conflict are exacerbating the situation and making it much more difficult for women to leave a violent partnership because it is becoming increasingly difficult to start over from one day to the next. Here, too, we have to support the women affected,” demanded Ecker, who emphasized that under no circumstances should one go back to business as usual.
