FPÖ confirms: “Yes, there were loans with party money for rosary”

The eXXpress reported exclusively on the strange debt cause of the FPÖ: The new candidate for the Hofburg election, Walter Rosenkranz (59), had received two loans from his party – allegedly with a total value of 200,000 euros. Why the FPÖ leadership acted here as a private bank and lent money has not yet been explained to the eXXpress by the blue party leadership. Only so much has now been confirmed: “The entire matter is a long time ago. The loan amount was significantly lower than the sums rumored in the media. At that time, the granting of the loan was legally checked in advance. It’s all gone now.”

According to information from eXXpress, however, the granting of the loan should not be “that long” ago: from 2016, the money from the party, which is financed through party funding from taxpayers and donations, flowed to the private citizen Walter Rosenkranz. The FPÖ has also not yet answered whether Rosenkranz had to pay interest on this and whether these transactions of party funds were correct under tax law.

It also remains unclear what Walter Rosenkranz needed these sums for: the current FPÖ presidential candidate always worked as a lawyer and also received a parliamentary salary (currently €9,300 gross per month), he received two years as FPÖ club chairman Parliament much more. Kickl’s new candidate has yet to comment.
