Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Chief Imam of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Habib Rizieq Shihab was reported to have been allowed to return to Indonesia after going through a ban process by the Saudi Arabian government authorities.

News of Rizieq’s return was also announced through a release issued by the FPI Central Leadership Council (DPP) today, Tuesday (13/10) and confirmed by Rizieq’s lawyer, Sugito Atmo Pawiro.

In the statement in the release, it was stated that Rizieq was ready to lead a revolution to save Indonesia after returning home.

“In-sha Allah, IB-HRS will soon return to Indonesia to lead a revolution to save NKRI. Allahu Akbar !!!” it was written in the release as quoted CNNIndonesia.com, Tuesday (13/10).

Meanwhile, Sugito was not sure when it was confirmed that Rizieq would return to Indonesia. However, his party continued to make efforts so that the High Priest could return home quickly.

According to him, Rizieq’s return is currently hampered by administrative processes at the government of Saudi Arabia, such as passports, ticket purchases, and scheduling to return to Indonesia and is being taken care of by his lawyer in Saudi Arabia.

“As far as I know from the past, the technical administration in Saudi Arabia. So, regarding the passport, he has not been able to leave Saudi Arabia,” he said.

Until now, Rizieq has been in Saudi Arabia for three years since he died in Indonesia in April 2017. Rizieq went to Saudi Arabia a week before being named a suspect in the alleged pornographic content case with Firza Husein.

In December 2019, Rizieq accused him of being unable to return to Indonesia because of negotiations between the Indonesian government and Saudi Arabia for security reasons.

“The question is why I can’t go home yet because I am still being banned by the government of Saudi Arabia for security reasons at the request of the Indonesian government. Therefore I ask the Indonesian government to end lying in the midst of national life,” said Rizieq, last December.
