MEXICO CITY (appro).–On Sunday, the match that closed day 6 of Mexican soccer took place: León vs. America, a duel that was broadcast on Marca Claro’s YouTube channel, however, the broadcast was suspended because, according to the platform, Fox Sports Mexico claimed broadcast rights.
Marca Claro, which also has the rights to broadcast the matches of the Esmeralda team, decided to share the game on YouTube. For its part, Fox Sports did it for its Premium version, a streaming version that has a subscription cost.
Users who chose to watch the game on Marca Claro shared that it was seen without problems, until the signal was lost. YouTube shared a message explaining, “This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim filed by Fox Sports MX.”
Even after recovering the signal on YouTube, Ramón Barrenechea, narrator of the match, commented: “We are in Marca Claro and Claros Sports completely free. Here we do not charge, we do not charge a penny. They can follow us for free and we will continue like this, even if they suddenly want to knock us down.”
During the final stretch of the game, Marca Claro’s transmission fell again and YouTube again showed another message stating that it was due to a situation with Fox Sports.
