Fourth Trial, SpaceX’s Starship Rocket Falls During Trial Page all

KOMPAS.com – Elon Musk, founder of the named space transportation company SpaceX, confirmed that the SN11 newest prototype of the rocket series Starship crashed after the video connection of the flight test was lost.

Elon Musk confirmed this news on Tuesday (30/3/2021) via his Twitter account.

This is Starship’s fourth failed test.

“At least the crater is in the right place,” Musk tweeted jokingly.

“Something significant happened shortly after landing burn start, “he added.

Reported Science Alert, Wednesday (31/3/2021), the rocket named SN11 was launched from the SpaceX company facility in South Texas at around 13.00 GMT (18.00 WIB).

Video interruption occurs when the rocket is 10 kilometers high.

After that, the rocket immediately fell to the ground.

“We lost time at T plus five minutes, 49 seconds,” said announcer John Insprucker.

T plus means the amount of time that has elapsed after takeoff.

“It looks like we have undergone an interesting test of Starship Number 11,” he added flatly.

About SN11

SN11 is the prototype of the 11th Starship, which SpaceX hopes will one day fly manned missions to the Moon, Mars and beyond.

It was the fourth aircraft to perform the test flight trying to return to the ground for a gentle vertical landing.

SN8 and SN9 launched in December and February respectively, crashed on landing and eventually exploded.

While SN10 manages to land then explodes a few minutes later during. The test was carried out on March 3, 2021.

Reported by the official page SpaceX, just like the previous flight test, the SN11 is powered via ascent by three Raptor engines, each of which is shut down sequentially before the vehicle reaches the top – about 10 kilometers altitude.

The SN11 transitions the propellant to the internal header tank, which houses the landing propellants, before reorienting itself for controlled re-entry and aerodynamic descent.

“Shortly after landing burn started, SN11 experienced rapid unscheduled demolition. The team will continue to review the data and work on our next flight test,” SpaceX wrote on its website.

The test flights aim to enhance SpaceX’s understanding and development of a fully reusable transport system.

Despite previous failures, analysts say SpaceX is gathering valuable data that will help it accelerate its development timeline.

Finally, SpaceX plans to combine the Starship spacecraft with the Super Heavy rocket, creating a fully reusable system.

This latest version is about 120 meters high and is estimated to be capable of carrying 100 metric tons into Earth orbit, the most powerful launch vehicle ever developed.
