Berlin – Bundesliga club 1. FC Union Berlin has signed Jamie Leweling as their fourth new signing for the new season.

The attacker changes from relegated SpVgg Greuther Fürth to Köpenick, as Union announced. At the Alten Försterei, the Germany U21 international meets his Fürth colleague Paul Seguin, whom Union had previously signed alongside Janik Haberer from Freiburg and Danilho Doekhi from Vitesse Arnhem. Neither club gave any information about the transfer fee or the length of the contract.

Leweling had contributed five goals and two assists for the Franks in the past season and was therefore the second-best scorer in the bottom of the table behind Fürth’s captain Branimir Hrgota. Born in Nuremberg, he also has Ghanaian citizenship, but has so far played internationally in the German U-national teams. On his U21 debut, the 21-year-old attacker even celebrated his first goal to make it 6-0 over San Marino.
