Fournier guide New York

Top scorer of the game, Evan Fournier guided the New York Knicks to success last night in the NBA against Detroit (105-91). The shock saw Phoenix bite the Los Angeles Lakers (90-108).

Three days after losing in Boston (114-107), New York returned to victory last night in the NBA. A triumph acquired at the expense of Detroit, marked with the seal of Evan Fournier, top scorer of the meeting (22 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists) ahead of his two teammates Julius Randle (21 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists) and Kemba Walker (21 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists). However, the Frenchman was not the most skillful with a very modest 9/24 in the shoot. The franchise of Big Apple, 12th in the Eastern Conference, is beaten in the standings by Toronto and Atlanta who both have the same number of victories but with two fewer games. As for the Pistons, they remain at the bottom of the class with only 5 successes. Frenchman Killian Hayes, sick, did not take part in this rout.

The big poster of the night pitted the Lakers against the Suns. The latter crunched the “Purple and Yellow” despite a new good performance from LeBron James, the most prolific actor of the meeting with 34 points with 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Russell Westbrook also responded with his double-double (22 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists) but it took a lot more to channel the verve of Devin Booker (8/16 shooting) and others. The US international has split 24 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Bahamian pivot Deandre Ayton for his part signed a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds to his name. This 4th victory in a row grants the place of leader of the Western conference and of the league in general to Phoenix which counts the same number of victories as Golden State but with one game less. As for the franchise in Los Angeles, it recorded a 3rd consecutive setback and stagnated at 8th place in the West.

Shy return of Ntilikina, Miami on a stroll

In the other meetings of the night, Frank Ntilikina reappeared in the Dallas jersey after missing the previous game. With 5 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists, the French leader made a contribution to the success of the Mavericks against Minnesota (114-102). In the Timberwolves, Karl-Anthony Towns once again shone in vain from the top of his double-double (26 points, 14 rebounds). The card of the night is to the credit of Miami, easy winner of the Indiana Pacers (125-96). And finally, the Pelicans of New Orleans confirmed their good dispositions of the moment with a 3rd victory in a row, against Portland (111-97). Thanks in particular to Brandon Ingram (28 points), the Louisiana franchise, 14th in the West, overcame a devilish Damian Lillard, approaching the 40 point mark (39 points).
