Graphic = Reporter Anna Kyung-On the first day of the part-time job, the court sentenced the owner of a restaurant in his 50s and a former police officer who forcibly raped a teenage foreign student after drinking alcohol.
The 4th Criminal Division of the Changwon District Law (Judge Lee Heon) sentenced A (54), who was handed over to trial on charges of rape, to 4 years in prison. It also ordered 40 hours of sexual violence treatment programs and restrictions on employment at welfare facilities for children, adolescents and the disabled for 7 years.
On the night of August 17 last year, Mr. A was charged with sexual assault on Vietnamese B (19) who came to his restaurant in Jungang-dong, Seongsan-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do.
After finishing the business, he and B drank alcohol and raped him. Mr. A was a former police officer with 20 years experience.
Mr. A admitted that he had sex, but denied the allegations with the intent of “we entered into a relationship under agreement.”
However, the judge did not accept Mr. A’s claim.
The judge said, “It will take a long time for a young-age victim who entered Korea dreaming of a bright future to return to their daily life from the shock and pain caused by this crime.” I took into consideration the fact that I was in,” he revealed the reason for the sentence.
