Four teens try to steal a train back to Strasbourg

In order to get home, four teenagers attempted a heist worthy of an action movie, but without an explosive end. During the night from Friday to Saturday, they got aboard a locomotive at Saverne (Bas-Rhin) station and tried to steal the train. Fortunately, they did not manage to start it and were arrested, reported the Latest News from Alsace March 21th.

The four minors, aged 16 and 17, acted on the night of March 19 to 20. According to the first elements of the investigation, they wanted to return to Strasbourg after ” a greening »In the vicinity of the small Alsatian town of Saverne. But instead of taking a ticket like everyone else, they tried to steal a train for their personal use. So they got into the locomotive they tried to start, without success.

Finally, the teens decided to take a TER heading to the Alsatian capital. But when they arrived, a reception committee was waiting for them. Three of them were then arrested by the police before being taken into custody, but the fourth managed to escape.

An investigation carried out jointly by the public prosecutors of Saverne and Strasbourg was opened to determine the reasons for their extraordinary attempt. For his part, the fourth accomplice is still wanted by the police.
