ANNOUNCEMENTS•
Four students of a university in the US state of Idaho were killed, allegedly while they were sleeping. So says a local coroner. No one has been arrested yet and no one is a suspect. The four victims are three women and a man in his early twenties.
According to the official, the four victims had multiple stab wounds, caused by “a rather large knife”. They had been stabbed in the chest and upper torso. The bodies were found a week ago.
Police say the danger has not yet passed. “A person who committed four horrific crimes is still circling,” local police said in a statement.
The murder case rocked the city of Moscow, Idaho, with a population of about 25,000. The women were roommates and the male victim was a friend of one of them. The victims came from the states of Idaho and Washington. Two other people in the house were found unharmed.
At the University of Idaho, the casualties will soon be commemorated. Donations have also been made to support the relatives of the four victims. Many tens of thousands of dollars have already been raised.
Many questions
The case is surrounded by many questions. Police suspect the students were the target, but the reason is unclear. Investigators found no traces of theft from the home of the four.
Investigators seized the contents of three nearby containers for possible evidence. Officers also contacted local businesses to see if anyone had recently purchased a large knife.
