The Army confirmed the death of four soldiers in the middle of a fight with the dissident ‘Carlos Patiño’, in the canyon of Micay (Cauca). President Gustavo Petro Urrego posted on his X account “The offensive is permanent, continuous and unrestricted.”
“The young Jorge, Camilo and Javier, Colombian soldiers, have died to free the people from the stupidity of armed greed,” said President Gustavo Petro Urrego on his account X, referring to the massacre of the professional soldiers by FARC dissent in Cauca.
The death of the soldiers, Camilo Molina Morales, Javier Sosa Ballesteros and Jorge Fuentes Santiago, happened last Friday night in the middle of a conflict with the dissident ‘Carlos Patiño’, in the department of El Plateado, in the town of Argelia. A few hours later, the soldier Javier Urrego David died. “The offensive is permanent, continuous and without obstacles in the Micay canyon,” the Colombian president posted.
The fight took place after the neutralization of three members of the criminal gang in the May 2 incidents and later five more members were caught in flagrante, from which their weapons, explosives, ammunition and ammunition were seized .
