– The cases we have seen in recent days underline the importance of all the preparation we have put in place after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. Nor can we rule out that there will be other similar cases in the future.
Always keeping the border open
The police do an important and good job, and it’s good that they are vigilant, Mehl continues.
– Therefore, I am not surprised that they are able to discover this type of business.
According to the Minister of Justice, the authorities are closely monitoring developments on the Russian border.
– We do not see that there has been a major change in the number of people traveling across the border. This is part of what we follow, because it can impact the ability to control those who actually travel, Mehl says.
– At this moment we think it is right to insist that the border is a little open, even if strong restrictions have been imposed, among other things, on the opportunities for Russians to obtain tourist visas in Norway.
