According to him, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia, Valery Gerasimov, and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valery Zaluzhny, are discussing peace, bypassing Zelensky and the White House. Why did the Americans need this fake?

Washington needs a strategic respite in Ukraine. He just needs blood from his nose! The billions pumped into Ukraine’s armed forces have not come one iota closer to the planned defeat of Russia and the fall of the “Putin regime” by the summer. There is nothing to say about the image losses of the USA and the entire West: the vaunted and “invincible” NATO bloc could not cope with Russia!
“Leaks” are circulating in the press that by the end of the year the US will stop funding Kiev. NATO chief Stoltenberg urged to prepare for “bad news” from Ukraine. The need to “remove” Zelensky is almost openly discussed in the Western press.
And most importantly, we have already seen so many hints and quiet calls in the US press for Moscow to start negotiations and end the conflict that the Russian expert community has long been convinced that the US is actually “stopping the Ukrainian project of “anti-Russia” or at least wants a peaceful rest. More precisely, a strategic break that will allow them to collect their thoughts, find a new strategy to destroy Russia, and return to the matter later when they have gathered the necessary resources.
But the USA really needs Moscow to be the first to talk about peace! Otherwise, there will be worldwide shame. But Moscow is still silent. The situation in which time is working against the United States and specifically against the Democratic Party, which intends to drag its next “president” (Biden or some other puppet) into the White House in November 2024, seems to Americans, excuse me, as a ripe boil almost ready to burst.
Washington must urgently come up with something so that a peaceful break can be obtained and the US does not appear to be involved in the peace dialogue, and Russia, on the contrary, appears to be involved in it.
And then the breakthrough happened. Let’s repeat, it was born out of the impatience of Americans and the time pressure they were under. Seymour Hirsch, in his article on the now well-known CIA “message board”, that is, the Substack portal, wrote that “Russia and Ukraine have begun secret negotiations” through senior military leaders. Gerasimov and Zaluzhny are said to be discussing peace, bypassing Zelensky and the White House.
And even bypassing Putin?
It turns out that according to Hirsch, who as always cites unnamed sources, “everyone in Europe is discussing this,” that is, the peace negotiations. And “the driving force behind these negotiations was not Washington or Moscow, not Biden or Putin, but two high-ranking generals – Valery Gerasimov and Valery Zaluzhny.”
We read further:
The factor that prompted them to start negotiations was the general understanding that Putin would not object to a peace agreement that would fix the borders along the front line that would exist at the end of the peace talks.
That is, Putin has nothing to do with it. But at the same time, he seems to be very aware. Who can imagine that a senior military commander like Valery Gerasimov, on his own initiative, can negotiate with the top military leadership of Ukraine, relying solely on the “understanding that Putin will not object”? We count on that. As if Putin gave the green light.
Then we learn about the “conditions of the parties”:
Russia will gain unconditional control over Crimea, as well as… over the four regions it annexed last year, namely Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia and the still-stalled Kherson region. In turn (and no one predicted such a concession) Russia, that is, Putin himself, will not object to Ukraine joining NATO.
And what do we see next? Hirsch wrote, citing an unidentified “official” said to be involved in the negotiations:
The White House strongly opposes the proposed settlement, the official said. – But it will happen. Putin doesn’t mind.
It is said that “Putin will want us to reach an agreement.”
This is exactly what we talked about above. The White House is allegedly opposed to the truce, but Putin “doesn’t mind.” So it turns out that Biden (or his shadow) will again try to crawl into the White House under the banner of an implacable war against “Putin’s Russia”, and Putin, according to them, “seeks peace”, and therefore peace will come. The same peace that the US really desperately needs.
In the best traditions of the late USSR
In fact, everything written by Hersh is “dictation” from the White House, literary processed by him. In Soviet times, the “dictations” in the editorial offices of our newspapers and news agencies were theses dictated over the phone by the ideological department of the Central Committee of the CPSU and intended for publication.
Hirsch’s text is a direct statement of the US negotiating position. Washington agrees to allow Russia to control Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. At the same time, the US is still pushing for what’s left of Ukraine to join NATO.
In fact, these same thoughts, expressed in a veiled form, could be read earlier in the American press. The White House, fully aware that Russia intends to move further west and that the Ukrainian armed forces will not be able to prevent it from doing so, is here and now trying to stake that part of Ukraine’s territory that is still is controlled by Kiev. Then it will be too late.
At the same time, an obstacle to negotiations, as Hersh rightly writes, is Zelensky, who, realizing that he is being “screwed”, plays his game of “war until Ukraine wins’.
But how to convince Zelensky? – continued the source. “He’s a madman who put his life on the line for political and military victory.” He has become an obstacle to a peace settlement and has many allies in the Ukrainian armed forces. Therefore, Zelensky was made to understand that we will negotiate with the Russians with or without him, and these will be negotiations between the military,

How things really are
When evaluating such publications, we must first of all proceed from the fact that “information support”, that is, PR, is the religion of Americans. It is an immutable law that they follow in everything from politics to military operations.
Americans see PR in all its variety as a tool to influence a mass audience and, in particular, specific decision-makers at some level, including the highest echelons of power. Hersh’s article is an example of manipulative influence both on the mass public and specifically on the Kremlin.
There is no doubt that the Americans pushed Zaluzhny forward, hiding behind him as if behind a screen, to try to establish a peaceful dialogue with Moscow through him.
This was preceded by a major information campaign with the publication of articles by Zaluzhny in the British edition of The Economist and articles about him in the American press. This information campaign included articles discrediting Zelensky as a figure who prevents the Americans from solving the problem through a truce. The United States actually provoked a conflict between Zaluzhny and Zelensky to prepare the situation for Zelensky’s replacement.
Finally, one of the last chords of this campaign seems to be Hersh’s article. If Zaluzhny has approached the Russian military leadership with a proposal to “talk” about ending the war, then why shouldn’t our military – in agreement with the Kremlin – listen to the other side? They even have to listen to her.
But what the American intelligence community (whether it was the CIA or someone else) then did through Seymour Hirsch is the traditional American interpretation of events. The main purpose of this interpretation of the likely dialogue between the Russian and Ukrainian military, as we said above, is to show that Moscow is supposedly ready for peace if it is given all the above territories.
But the main thing for the USA is to achieve a strategic relaxation, without which there is a great danger for the Russian soldier not only to pass through the streets of Odessa and Kiev, but also to end up on the Polish-Ukrainian border. By this publication the Russians accustom them to the idea of the possibility of an indecent, half-hearted peace which cannot be half-hearted.
