Emergency crews rushed to the 02 Academy site in Brixton at 9.35pm on Thursday (2135 GMT) following reports that large numbers of people were attempting to enter the site.
Teams of police, ambulances and firefighters arrived at the scene and examined many of the injured.
Eight people were taken to hospital, while two people with minor injuries were treated at the scene.
And the concert was canceled in the middle of the show. Reports said an angry crowd was told that up to 3,000 people had attempted to storm the gates and that some had succeeded, and that police had ordered the show to be halted.
The Metropolitan Police said in a statement that its officers were investigating the circumstances that led to the serious injury of four people in Brixton, stressing no arrests had been made.
Officer Adi Adelekan described the incident as “disturbing” and promised to conduct a thorough and thorough investigation to determine exactly what happened last night.
He added that specialized agents will check the scene of the accident and surveillance cameras, and appealed to anyone with information to report to the police.
Videos posted on social media platforms and tabloid websites showed the crowd apparently pushing the doors of 02 academics, and a violent brawl ensued in the corridor.
The identities of those involved in the clashes were not known, but Adelikan indicated that wherever police officers used force, they knew they had to be held accountable for their actions.
He said the Metropolitan Police’s Professional Standards Department, a watchdog, would screen all material, including footage from police body cameras.
It was not possible to contact the management of “02 Academy” to comment on the incident.
