Four people are hospitalized and in critical condition after a fire broke out in a 6-story building in Brooklyn.
According to information provided by the New York Fire Department (FDNY), the situation occurred around 9:31 in the morning, between 1347 E. and 17th Street.
After receiving the call about smoke, the members of the FDNY arrived in 3 minutes, activating the hoses and beginning the search for fatalities and survivors. They found four people who were taken to hospitals in critical condition.
The causes of the fire are being investigated.

Fortunately, there were no fatalities. The FDNY later reported that it was caused by a lithium-ion battery.
Firefighters also said there were at least 10 people injured with minor injuries. They also pointed out that there were no smoke detectors in the building, a security resource that would have valuable minutes to act.
