Four People Found Shot to Death Near North Carolina Homeless Camp

Four people were found shot to death near a homeless camp in North Carolina, ABC News reported. They were found by sheriffs responding to a report of shots fired.

An initial examination of the crime scene indicated that it was a murder of three of the victims followed by a suicide, Capt. Eric Pope of the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office told WRAL-TV.

The victims are two men and two women. They were found next to a tent at the end of a private road riddled with huge potholes near Otterville, authorities said.

While the names of those killed have not been released, Eric Pope said investigators are still gathering evidence to determine exactly how the shooting unfolded.

Otriville is about 90 kilometers south of Raleigh, the state capital.
