A four-part series of Italian films will start on Thursday, September 26, in the cinema of the adult education center in Ingolstadt. Each film will be shown at 7 p.m. in collaboration with Spazio Italia.
All films are in Italian with German or English subtitles.
The drama kicks off on Thursday, 26 September “La solitudine dei numeri primi – The loneliness of prime numbers” from 2010. A single day in their childhood decides their fate: on that day, Alice loses her trust in her father and her zest for life. Mattia, on the other hand, loses his sister when he lets her out of his sight just once. Both are scarred by the tragedies of their childhood. When they meet as teenagers a few years later, they are magically and irresistibly attracted to each other. It is their own loneliness that each recognizes in the other. They share their lives and yet don’t, get close, but not close enough. There always seems to be something between them, like prime twins.
On Wednesday, October 16, we continue with “Bianca come il latte, rossa come il sangue – White as milk, red as blood”a drama from 2013 (Italian with English subtitles). Leo is a completely normal 16-year-old and firmly convinced that he has the strength of a lion, but he has an enemy that is tormenting him: the colour white. White represents silence, longing and loneliness. Red, on the other hand, is the colour of love, passion and blood. Red is also the hair of Beatrice, whom he adores. But the woman he loves is seriously ill and from now on he will do everything he can to give her new courage to live.
On Thursday, November 7, the turbulent Christmas comedy „Il primo Natale – Once upon a Time in Bethlehem“ from 2019 with the Italian comedy duo Ficarra and Picone on the program.
The series ends on Friday, January 16, 2025, with the political satire “Viva la libertà – Long live freedom” from 2013. Enrico Oliveri, head of the most important Italian opposition party, is in crisis. Worn down by poor poll ratings and political intrigue, he secretly goes to Paris one night to visit his former lover Danielle. There is great excitement in the party’s leadership circle: no one knows where Oliveri has gone. Then his colleague Andrea Bottini has an idea: he calls on Enrico’s twin brother Giovanni, an eccentric philosopher, to take the place of the missing man. With surprising consequences.
