Four of these smoked out after the second live broadcast in The Voice

The Voice fired with one second live broadcast Friday night with eight new participants – two from each mentor team – who were to be halved to four.

In this round it was Jørgen Dahl Moe (25), Stian Åkvik (31), Chris Lund (47), Tara Bloch-Vere (31), Madeleine Tverberg (23), Tuva Knutsen (21), Mathilde W. Taugard (24 ) and Niklas Jung Hansen (29) who fought to win the hearts of the audience.

After an evening filled with tearful and entertaining musical moments, the viewers had given their verdict. The four budding artists Chris, Tuva, Stian and Mathilde had to step off the stage and leave the competition.

This means that Jørgen, Niklas, Madeleine and Tara are on to the third live broadcast next Friday, together with last week’s winners, André Askeland Hagen (21), Sebastian Christensen (54), Kirsti Lucena (35) and Øyvind Weiseth (28).

When TV 2 met the four who had gone on, they were all very surprised, but also very happy.

– It feels completely insanely strange. I do not think I fully understand that I am further. I think I have to get in the car again to gather myself, says a speechless Niklas.

– There were an insane amount of nerves today as well, admits the 29-year-old, who adds that the production has been very supportive, and it has helped to reduce the nerves.

Jørgen was also surprised that he got one of the four places.

– It feels first and foremost completely strange because the whole setting is so weird. It’s so surreal and at the same time very stately. It’s totally sick that there are actually people sitting at home voting.

Tara was also almost speechless when TV 2 hit her backstage.

– Fantastic. It totally feels … I do not think I understand. I can not understand it. I’m very happy that it went so well.

Like the other three, Madeleine is also very happy.

– It feels very good. Very big to move on, and know that people at home have voted for me and want to see me further.

On the way forward, the Sandefjord woman has one specific goal.

– I like to challenge myself, but then I try to bring out who I am and who I can be as an artist. At the same time I want to challenge and coordinate it with Yosef.

Such were the evening’s live performances

Bergen resident Chris Lund (47) kicked off the evening with a fireworks display of a performance – with The Greatest Showman’s “The Greatest Show”.

Chris was completely out of breath after the performance and received standing ovations from mentor “Matoma” Stræte Lagergren (30) and Ina Wroldsen (37).

– I’m so proud. Damn dad, this was so cool! For a showman. I know how hard you’ve worked. You deliver, you are absolutely boss !, said Matoma.

Niklas Jung Hansen (29) struck with a beautiful and heartfelt interpretation of the Henning Kvitnes song “Evig Eies – Kun Et Dårlig rykte”. The Drammen man received standing ovations from mentors and the audience.

Mentor Espen Lind (50) was thrilled.

– You make it so easy, but still so incredibly nice. I like so much that you dare to dig a little deeper each time. You dare to sing in Norwegian. You dare to do all the things that make you better. I bend in the dust, he said.

Matoma also shed tears and was clearly moved.

– Your soul. The first time I’ve seen you so open and genuine. I remember the first time you came in here and the whole story here that you felt you were insecure, this is all you. This is some of the nicest I have heard and seen.

Sandefjord woman Madeleine Tverberg (23) went with Duncan Laurence’s Eurovision song from 2019, «Arcade».

– I have said it to you every time, the most wonderful feeling is that I am always confident in you. It was great !, boasted mentor Yosef Wolde-Mariam (44).

He was joined by Ina.

– I think Madeleine has such a nerve. You have so much food in your voice. I think this was a lovely performance. Love the «look», love everything!

– You have something very special

31-year-old Stian Åkvik performed Josh Groban’s beautiful song, “To Where You Are”, which Åkvik wanted to dedicate to his deceased mother.

Mentor Ina was very pleased with the 31-year-old’s performance.

– This song is demanding. So, for a delivery. You “nailed” it. I’m very proud of you !, she praised.

– It was so solid. You’re like a male person by Celine Dion. Your mom had been so proud, Matoma said.

Hammerfest woman Tara Bloch-Vere (31) performed the song “The Sound of Silence” by Simon & Garfunkel to loud cheers afterwards.

Mentor Matoma shed a tear over Bloch-Vere’s strong performance.

“Start with Yosef,” he said, clearly speechless and speechless.

– It was insane. What was the absolute nicest and fattest thing is that I know there is so much fear in you, but you control it. It was wonderful to watch, said Yosef.

The mentor colleague finally got together and said the following:

– I’m so proud. You have worked and worked, and then you come here and it is completely spotless. You are absolutely amazing !, praised Matoma.

Fredrikstad girl Tuva Knutsen (21) performed a “sassy” and raw version of Olivia Rodrigo’s “Good 4 You”.

Mentor Yosef smiled from ear to ear.

– Tuva, I love your “approach” both what you do and the way I know you. I think you’re a breath of fresh air. To me, you were a breath of fresh air, and you will always be.

Espen also praised Knutsen for her rawness.

– It was rock solid, he thought.

Mathilde W. Taugard (24) performed one of a-ha’s big hits, “Hunting High and Low”.

Mentor Espen liked what he saw and heard.

– This is what I call «magic». It’s so solid and precise. I know you’re nervous, but you look so calm. I think this is so incredibly steady. I think you’re amazing.

Ina, who previously wanted the 24-year-old on her team, said the following:

– There are some artists who have been with you all their lives. You’re like that. I want to get your record and listen to it over and over again. You are completely raw, she praised.

Last out was Jørgen Dahl Moe. The 25-year-old clinked with the emotional Celine Dion song “Think Twice” on guitar.

– You have so much control. All the songs you do can be on your disc. I bend you in the dust, I think you’re so raw. Congratulations on a beautiful performance !, expressed mentor Ina.

– You’re Iron Man, Yosef thought.
