Four more deaths – Freiburg

FREIBURG (r). The health department had 79 new infections with the corona virus in the Freiburg area on Thursday – 37 cases were added in the city, 42 in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district. The number of deaths has also risen: In Freiburg, three more people died in connection with an infection, the district has registered another death.

Recently there had been fewer infections in the Freiburg area than around Christmas. This affects the Covid stations in the four Freiburg hospitals. 68 infected people are currently being treated there, 24 need ventilation. A week ago, 84 patients were still on the wards, 25 of whom were ventilated. The hospitals reported the previous maximum value on December 30 with 112 hospitalized Covid-19 patients. The University Hospital currently cares for 48 infected people (21 ventilated), Diakoniekrankenhaus 11 (two ventilated), Josefskrankenhaus 5 (one ventilated) and Loretto 4 (without ventilation). The number of currently active cases in Freiburg has fallen from 432 to 356 compared to the previous week.
