Düsseldorf. At the NRW state championships in Krefeld, the rowing club Germania Düsseldorf won two silver and two bronze medals in the junior class, and the team just missed the medal ranks in the open class.

In the controlled U19 four, Leonardo Ciccotti, Laurin Mückshoff, Hendrik Weskamp, Ben Wolke and helmsman Magdalena Hallay were only 0.28 seconds away from gold after the 1000 meters. The opponents from Krefeld secured first place in front of the Teutons, bronze went to Münster. “The claim was a medal,” said Steven Tischer, satisfied with the silver. There were five entries in the U19 double fours, here they fought for the bronze medal.

U23 rower Lars Menzel joined Hendrik Weskamp. He started with the three other U19 juniors in the open age category double fours and crossed the finish line with half a second behind the bronze medalists from Krefeld. “The seniors are even harder on the last meters. That was too much of what came from the others ”, summarized Steven Tischer, who in turn started with Lars Menzel in a double scull. The two reached the A-final and came fourth behind the boats from Krefeld, Leverkusen and Hürth.

Nike Pommeranz came second in the U19 lightweight, behind the rower from Neuss, bronze went to Bonn. “That was a round end to the season for her, after she unfortunately just missed a medal at the German Youth Championships,” said a happy Steven Tischer. In the U19 quadruple scull, she won bronze with Carla Cai Albuera, Sophie Wurow and Carla Bültmann behind Dortmund and Essen.

At the Talents Cup, Filip Gronebaum and Phil Horsten made it into the A final of the U17 double with a very good race and a good second place behind the eventual overall winner from Dorsten. In the final, they finally came fifth. Arthur Burdaire and Jakob Eichmann finished fourth in the run-up to the U17 lightweight doubles and just missed the final.
