This Friday, 7 October, at 7:25 pm, the firefighters of Thionville, Yutz, Metzervisse and Sierck were informed that an accident had just occurred on the secondary road connecting Kœnigsmacker to Basse-Ham.
A van heading towards Sierck was hit by a black BMW, license plate 68, arriving in the opposite direction. The sedan was followed by a red vehicle that failed to brake and bumped into it in turn. The driver of the latter, pregnant, was immediately assisted by the emergency services and taken to the Bel-Air hospital in Thionville. The other two drivers and a passenger were also assisted and taken to the hospital for checks. At 20:30 the axis was stopped for traffic by Rettel’s gendarmes to allow repairer Thiel to remove the damaged vehicles.
It is not the first time that this road, very popular with cross-border commuters, is the scene of an accident. This is also why a roundabout was built between Petite-Hettange and Kœnigsmacker and why a radar was installed.
