Four individuals attacked a bpost office in Tongeren on Monday around 3:45 a.m. The suspects attacked the lobby of the agency where the vending machines are located, said police in the Tongeren-Herstappe area.
It is not yet known whether the thieves took a booty. The residents heard a loud detonation. Four men then fled aboard an Audi RS. The army’s demining service (SEDEE) went to the site because the perpetrators used explosives.
The forensic laboratory has started its investigations and firefighters from the Zuid-West Limburg area have also visited the scene. The investigation is being carried out by the Limburg federal judicial police.
About fifteen residents were evacuated and welcomed in the nearby sports hall.
