Thrissur: Four accused in moral killing in Cherp arrested. Arun, Amir, Niranjan and Suhail, natives of Cherp, were arrested. They were arrested from Uttarakhand. They will be brought to Thrissur tomorrow evening.
Sahar, a native of Cherp, died due to moral assault. On February 18, a group of eight members surrounded Sahar and beat him up at the Chirakkal Kottam Thiruvanikav temple premises. Sahar was seriously injured in the attack and died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
A special team headed by Iringalakuda DySP is investigating the case. Naveen, who was one of the accused who attacked Sahar, brought Ginchu to Kochi from the country in a vehicle, Faisal and Suhail, natives of Cherp, who gave financial help to the accused to go on the run, were earlier in the custody of the police. The police have registered a case of murder against 10 people in the incident. There are also indications that Rahul, who is suspected by the police to have led the attack, has gone abroad. Rahul was an acquaintance of Sahar. The police also received the CCTV footage of the attack.
