Sturm Graz will have to do without coach Nestor El Maestro in the next four games of the Tipico Bundesliga. A functional ban of one month that was originally pronounced conditionally in the autumn due to unsportsmanlike behavior and insult was revoked by Senate 1 on Friday. Because of the tight schedule after the Corona break, it was converted into a four-game ban.
El Maestro must also pay a fine of 2,000 euros. The 37-year-old had insulted the referee in the league home game against champions Salzburg (1: 5) and saw the red card for it. With a similar offense, he had already attracted negative attention against Mattersburg in September. A contingent fine of 500 euros was also revoked, with which El Maestro now has to pay 2,500.
Sturm player Lukas Spendlhofer, who also saw Red against Salzburg, has to watch a game.
