The Criminal Chamber responsible for terrorism cases at the Rabat Court of Appeal pronounced, on Wednesday, sentences ranging from 2 to 7 years in prison against 4 individuals prosecuted in separate cases linked to terrorism.
Concerning the first case in which two defendants are being prosecuted, the Court decided to reduce from 8 to 7 years the prison sentence pronounced at first instance against the accused (AM) and to confirm the sentence of 3 years prison sentence for the second defendant (AS), after their conviction for “ constitution of a criminal gang with a view to preparing and committing terrorist acts and advocating terrorist acts and organization« .

In the second case, the court, after accepting the request for quashing, reduced the initial sentence from 8 to 5 years in prison for the accused (MB), convicted of ” constitution of a criminal gang as part of an individual project aimed at undermining public order and apology for acts constituting a terrorist crime« .
The court also confirmed in absentia in the third case, the conviction in first instance to a sentence of 2 years in prison of the accused (CL), after his conviction for “ apology for acts constituting a terrorist crime« .
