Four counties in the district of Faro at maximum risk

At maximum risk of fire are the municipalities of Alcoutim, Tavira, São Brás de Alportel and Castro Marim (Faro) while six others have a very high risk of fire: Vila do Bispo, Lagos, Monchique, Portimão, Silves and Loulé.

The IPMA also placed about 40 municipalities in the districts of Faro, Beja, Santarém, Castelo Branco, Portalegre, Guarda and Bragança at very high risk of fire.

According to the IPMA, as of Tuesday, the risk of very high fire in several counties on the continent will remain due to the hot weather.

The fire risk determined by the IPMA has five levels, ranging from reduced to maximum.

Calculations are obtained from air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and amount of precipitation in the last 24 hours.

Because of the hot weather, the IPMA placed the district of Faro under yellow warning between 11 am today and 9 pm on Monday.

The yellow warning is issued by the IPMA whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities depending on the weather situation.

For today, the IPMA predicts cloudy skies on the North and Center coast, with drizzle at dawn, light rain in the Minho region and strong wind in the western coastal strip of the South and highlands, with a small rise in maximum temperature.

In Grade Lisboa, the IPMA foresees the record of lightly cloudy or clear skies, presenting periods of greater cloudiness until mid-morning and at the end of the day, with light to moderate wind (up to 30 km / h) from the northwest, sometimes blowing strong ( up to 40 km / h) next to Cabo Raso from the afternoon.

For Greater Porto, lightly cloudy skies are expected, with periods of very cloudy until mid-morning and at the end of the day, a light wind, blowing at times moderate (up to 25 km / h) from the northwest from the afternoon onwards and possibility formation of fog or morning fog, in addition to a small rise in maximum temperature.

The minimum temperatures on the continent will vary between 13 degrees Celsius (in Guarda) and 21 (in Faro) and the maximum between 23 (in Viana do Castelo and Porto) and 35 (in Faro).
