Because of the full intensive care units in the south and east of Germany, patients are being transferred to other federal states. Hamburg has now taken in four corona sufferers from Bavaria.
The first two intensive care patients from the south landed on an ADAC plane at Fuhlsbüttel airport late on Friday evening. With temperatures around three degrees and rain they were accompanied by paramedics and doctors in white protective suits. One sick person was brought to the Eppendorf University Medical Center, the other to the AK Barmbek. Two more patients were received in Hamburg on Saturday.
“Still fully receptive”
The admission of people from Bavaria is currently not a problem for the Hamburg hospitals, said Florian Bornitz from AK Barmbek. “At the moment we are still fully receptive, we can also take on more seriously ill intensive care patients in the future.”
Corona patients are relocated according to the clover leaf system. The northern countries currently belong to the group that takes in seriously ill people. (25.11.2021) more

50 Bavarian patients are relocated
A total of 50 Bavarian patients are to be relocated to other federal states, how many of them will come to Hamburg is still unclear. Those affected are brought from Thuringia to Lower Saxony. Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania accepts intensive care patients from overburdened clinics in Saxony.
The basis for its use is the so-called cloverleaf system for a nationwide distribution of patients from individual regions in which hospitals are threatened with collapse. A transfer of patients with other illnesses is only planned in exceptional cases according to a catalog of criteria of the intensive care medical association Divi. The concept was launched in spring 2020 under the impression of the first corona wave.
