For the investigation into the death of a fourteen-year-old girl from Marken, the police took three more cars for investigation. The police have no suspects in mind, a spokesman reports NU.nl on Sunday.
Saturday afternoon became already found a car with (fresh) damage in Uitdam and taken it for further investigation.
The three cars that have been taken since then were all found in Marken. “The cars were taken in because of damage. We want to know what caused it,” said the police spokesman. “Today we will continue with the investigation to clarify what exactly happened.”
For the time being, the search focused on the region around Marken / Zuiderwoude, but has also been expanded to areas beyond it since Sunday. “We try to find as many cars with damage as possible and to request camera images.”
The fourteen-year-old girl’s lifeless body turned around 4:00 a.m. on Friday night found in the verge along the Zeedijk near the North Holland village of Zuiderwoude.
Girl previously reported missing
The girl was reported missing that night. She was probably walking because no parts of other vehicles were found nearby.
It is still unclear what exactly the girl was doing there at the time. Her identity is now known and her family has been informed.
Police suspect someone hit the teenager and drove on after the accident. Brake tracks on the road would indicate this.
The police hope that witnesses report cars with (suspected) damage.
