Four Bundesliga games scheduled for a Sunday in March | Free press

Frankfurt / Main (AP) – The German Football League (DFL) has reacted to the lavish German participation in the Europa League with an unusual change to the schedule.

On the 26th matchday four games will be scheduled on Sunday so that Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt have enough regeneration time after their games in the Europa League. Two or a maximum of three Sunday games are common. This time Leverkusen will play against Cologne (3.30 p.m.), Dortmund against Bielefeld and Frankfurt against Bochum (each 5.30 p.m.) and Fürth against Leipzig (7.30 p.m.) on Sunday.

There will be no match on Friday evening on this match day. Only Frankfurt and Leverkusen are guaranteed to play in Europe the week before. Dortmund and Leipzig have to survive the playoffs against a group runner-up in the Europa League after being eliminated in the Champions League.

The top games on Saturday evening (6.30 p.m.) for this period were Leverkusen against Stuttgart (February 12), Cologne against Frankfurt (February 19), Frankfurt against Bavaria (February 26), Stuttgart against Gladbach (March 5), Gladbach against Hertha (March 12) and Bayern against Union Berlin (March 19).
