The last phase of the approach maneuver to the ISS, which orbits at an altitude of 420 kilometers above the Earth’s surface, was launched by the Crew Dragon over the Indian Ocean. The current ISS crew welcomed the new reinforcements after anchoring around 11:20 CEST. However, the astronauts will not be seen in person until about two hours later, when the door separating the ISS from the junction box will be able to open.
The successful landing was only briefly disrupted by an incident in which astronauts on board the ship had to put on spacesuits – it seemed that Endeavor might be in danger of colliding with a piece of space debris:
