The mayors of Zwolle, Raalte and Deventer are calling on activist farmers to stop blocking distribution centers. they do in a joint statement: “Since the distribution centers provide supplies of fresh products such as bread, dairy and vegetables throughout the eastern and northern parts of the Netherlands, from Nijmegen to the Wadden, supplies from there may only stagnate for a limited time”, write Peter Snijders (Zwolle), Ron König (Deventer) and Martijn Dadema (Raalte).
The farmers are requested to stop their actions tonight at 8 p.m. The mayors say they assume that this will be followed. In their statement, they do not mention the consequences if farmers ignore the call.
